Stephanie Rice's Official Website
Stephanie Rice is one of Australia's most succesful Olympians and one of the most recognised athletes in the country. Her success at the 2008 Beijing Olympics - winning three Gold medals and breaking three World records - launched her into the stratosphere of sporting celebrity, creating a level of interest rarely seen before from the media, sponsors and the public.
Post Beijing, Stephanie's success has continued both in and out of the pool.
The Olympic Champion was recognised as Female World Swimmer of the Year and Australian Swimmer of the Year. In January 2009, Steph Rice was also awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to sport as a gold medalist at the Beijing Olympics.
She went onto win three medals at the World Swimming Championships in Rome in 2009, but a shoulder injury saw Stephanie Rice withdraw from the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
The Olympic swimmer made a strong recovery from shoulder surgery in September 2010 and was back in the pool competing two months later.
In July 2011, Steph competed at the FINA World Championships in Shanghai - her first major swim meet since the surgery.
The swimming champion's next focus will then be the London 2012 Olympic Games.
